The plate this was traced from is strongly colour-cast — 93% of its pixels fall in one hue band, and even its darkest areas lean red rather than blue. So the sixteen dyes recorded here are the plate’s, not the carpet’s: the drawing is faithful, the colour is as photographed. Where a Tabriz would ordinarily carry indigo, this trace shows near-black.
